Cool Cross Stitches

So neat! Saw these at the Feeling Stitchy blog. It's The Breakfast Club, Mötley Crüe, and ZZ Top all done in cross stitch! What a fun idea.

Cute vintage children's book illustrations

I saw these gorgeous illustrations over at the "Pixie Blossoms Journal" blog. It's from a book she picked up at a thrift store, it's titled, "This Little Golden Book."

Bravia Commercials

I was talking to a friend the other day about these Sony Bravia commercials and she hadn't seen them. So I know that they are getting old (the bouncy balls one is from 2005) but anyone who hasn't seen these should really take a look. No computer animation was used. The bouncy ball one is so beautiful and the music they used is perfect, if you're stressed out it will definitely make you a little bit more relaxed. You just feel good after watching it. The paint commercial is just plain fun. They basically made and choreographed paint fireworks. So here they are for all of you that haven't seen them before, and for you that just want to take another gander (PS you need quicktime if you don't have it):
Bouncy Balls: high res and if all else fails here is the low res
Paint: high res and low res

Antiques are fun

Went through some pics from my last thrift store trip and I found these. The second pic is a little tin, and the birds are from a platter.

Gonna crochet tonight.

I think I'm going to take it easy and crochet some more alphabet bears tonight. Here's a pic of some finished ones.

More Paper! Artist: Peter Callesen

So blushing apples just sent me this link of another paper sculpture artist; Peter Callesen. His pieces are so fantastic, I couldn't resist showing some here too. Definitely check out his website. His framed Papercut pieces are quite beautiful. These pics are from his "A4 Papercut" series. Neato!

Etsy Artist: Elsita

Check out these little paper sculptures! The bee is made from 25 pieces of paper and is 6 cm tall and the dress is made from 46 pieces and is 4 inches tall. I originally saw the bee on the blushing apples blog. The sculptures are done by etsy artist: Elsita (real name Elsa Mora). Check out her shop, lots of great prints!

Fun Paris Pic

My husband and I just updated our computer a little which deleted our old desktop pic so we needed to find a new one. Here's the winner, from our trip to Paris, the carousel at Le Sacre-Coeur. Amelie anyone?

Cute pillows and prints from Amenity

I saw these cute pillows and prints at Amenity's website and fell in love with them. I love the little turtle with the lady bug on his back. Also, I was tagged by Toby and Penny at natural attrill, so I'll get that together and post it this week.

Snowflake tests

So Caroline B at Uniqart has been wondering what I've been up to since I've been posting a lot of other artists lately, and the truth is I've hardly made a thing! Between my job, freelance, and various summer trips, I've been swamped. I have a lot of things in the planning stages and I'm starting production on them, so soon you'll be able to see more from me. The only thing I have made lately are these little snowflakes so I can test starch them before I starch my big doily.

Artist: Bjørn Rune Lie

Fun artist Bjørn Rune Lie. For some reason I can't get enough of this vintage-70's-ish palette. I would hang the image of the shoes or the album cover with the bunny in my house over the couch in an instant. Check out his portfolio here.

Artist: C'est Moi Ce Soir

C'est Moi Ce Soir is artists Christopher Green and Gary Barber. I love these paintings/collages. I especially like the front/back design on the tote. Here is the works page on their website. Fun stuff!

Book: Dirty Wow Wow

I have to buy this book. It's all about childhood buddies and their stories. I especially like the Blankie story. My old blankie is hiding somewhere too I think. Here is the Amazon link, and here is the Dirty Wow Wow website. They have more pics and little stories there in the gallery section.

Artist: Allison Stout

Big mixed media drawing/paintings by artist Allison Stout. Some of these pieces are as big as 6 feet x 4 feet! These images are from her MN artist page. You can also check out her blog for fun new work.
