My first time needle felting!

Check out what I made this weekend. I bought some needle felting supplies and made my first needle felted characters. It was super fun! It took a really long time to make the general shape of the birds though. I'm wondering if there are different grades of needle felting needles, like one for details and one for bigger pieces. Hmmm. Anyone know? I'll have to Google it.

  1. Well done, these are so sweet. Think there are even needlefelting groups on line you can join who will give you lots of info.

  2. Hello fellow needlefelt convert - :) the needles are graded, but ever so finely, I find I can use the same kind for everything - there are needles for sale on ebay, they break every so often, so its best to get a supply in. I joined the Etsy Needlefelt team, (Stabalot Lane on Flickr)who are a really friendly bunch (NFEST on Etsy) and the largest and very nice NF community tends to be here -

where the Etsy team now has its own sub section. There is a really good UK rovings source on Etsy who you may know of,

  4. I'm always amazed by the sheer detail you can get with needlefelting! The grey, black and white bird at the top is especially lovely :)

  5. not sure where you are located should have looked that up before I went into the comments but fibrearts.co.uk have a selection of needles for felting in different grades and they come in a pack of 10 which is handy. Happy felting, you'll find you will become totally hooked!
