Artist: Flora Bowley

I found artist Flora Bowley through the Oh Joy blog, and I fell in love with her bright fun paintings. You can purchase and view more of her work on Petaline store site. Enjoy!

Etsy Artist: Felicitate88

Here's a great artist from my favorites folder. Artist, Felicitate, from Frankfurt, has the cutest illustration style. I love her linocut illustrations/artworks. Here is here Etsy store and here is her flickr site. Check it out.

Artist: nobody&co, the Bibliochaise

I found this chair by nobody&co through the rag & bone blog, and I've decided that it was made especially for me! It's awesome. I seem to have a book overload in my apartment and this would definitely to the trick.

Daily Art 07_28_07

My "to die for" cookie from Patrick's bakery. YUM!

Finished Crocheting

OK, so I didn't actually post the doily yesterday in it's entirety, so here it is. There's still lots to do on it but the crocheting is done and that was definitely the bulk of the work. Right now it measures about 24" across, and after I'm done starching and stretching it flat (hoping to do that over the weekend) then it will probably be around 30" across.

Yay!

So I didn't do a Daily Art yesterday or today. Instead I finished crocheting my doily from my doily project (here's the first post of it), YAY! This is a pic of the last stitch. Woo Hoo! Also, for several months now, my day job has been at a stationery and desk accessories manufacturer here in Minneapolis where I'm a product designer/illustrator. We make stuff that we get into boutiques and big box stores, and my first piece for Target is now on the shelves! Neato. These are scans of the two SKUs.

Daily Art 07_24_07

OK, so I didn't do much for my daily art yesterday, I just drew up some type and added it to my dishes. I think this is something that needs to go in my mom's kitchen. Mom would always say "Take care of your dishes" after my brothers and I were done eating. Ehn, fun.

Daily Art 07_20_07 to 07_23_07

OK, so here are some Daily Arts that I've done the last couple days. They're in the order of the most recent to the oldest:
07_23_07 Dishes: didn't have much time to make anything crazy last night when I got home but I figured I always have time to fit in a sketch of something. So I drew the post-supper dirty dishes. I wanted to make it feel like more then just a sketch so I scanned it in and added some quick color.
07_22_07 French Bulldog with Flower Pattern: this piece is hand drawn and painted in layers, then all the layers were scanned in and colored and assembled. It's 7" x 9.5" It's the only one of these Daily Arts that made the Etsy cut. I'm not really happy with the other pieces. Ehn, I like the Dishes sketch but I don't know if anyone would want a drawing of dirty dishes. Here is the listing for the French Bulldog print.
07_21_07 Sewing machine: Watercolor of my sewing machine with the cute flower fabric I used for the bracelet. It's about 4.5" x 6.5". Not especially happy with this one, but I figure I'm not going to like everything, I'm just happy I did it in the first place.
07_20_07 Flower Bracelet: This is made out of a silky fabric. Like the idea but I think it needs to be refined yet. But it's a start.
So there you have it, my last couple Daily Art pieces. woo hoo!

Artist: Jennifer Murphy

TO DIE FOR! Jennifer Murphy of Jennifer Murphy Bears creates the most amazing stuffed critters. GIMMEE! Check out her cute website. Jennifer was also recently on the Martha Stewart Show to teach us how to make her little pom pom bunnies. She did a wonderful job, check out the video.

Artist: Kurt Halsey Frederiksen

Kurt Halsey Frederiksen went to the same college (minneapolis college of art and design) as me around the same time several years ago and I've always admired his paintings and drawings. He has become a super accomplished artist, and besides having tons of gallery shows, he has art pieces for sale at Urban Outfitters with more on the way, and he made a few embroidery patterns for Sublime Stitching.

Daily Art 07_19_07 Fabric Pottery

I made another fabric bowl for my Daily Art. This one is bigger then the last one and I think a little more elegant than crafty looking. It's made out of linen strips wrapped around cord then sewn in a circle. The colors go with the doily project like the buttons in my last post. Here is the listing. So, as far as this Daily Art thing goes, I think instead of posting each piece everyday, I think I'm going to post the week's Daily Art pieces all at once at the end of the week. Then I can still share what I've done for my Daily Art but I can post some of the other neat things that are inspiring me all during the rest of the week. OK, done.

Daily Art 07_18_07 Pin Set

I'm back doing some Daily Art! I made this button pin set yesterday as a sort of test for my ongoing doily project. I wanted to see how the mohair yarn and linen would translate into a different form. I just finished posting the set to my etsy shop. They are really fun to make so keep your eyes open at my etsy shop for some more sets in the next couple of weeks.

Illustrator Stefanie Harjes and my favorite cups

Last time I was in Germany I bought the two most beautiful coffee cups in the world with art on them by German illustrator Stefanie Harjes. You can see the collections here. The two cups that I own are 1: in the first image, the cup farthest to the right which is slightly hidden; and 2: in the fourth image, the cup farthest to the right and slightly hidden.
